Sperm, Oprah, Oxygen Masks, Heroes, and Freud’s Psycho… yeah.

Oprah’s literary and self-help book followers know her staff can be fun in their methods of grabbing our attention. So, Okay Okay! I am an Oprah fan. She’s a goddess in various ways. And if you didn’t know, her book … Continue reading

GOP = Nobody Be Liking You Right Now Cuz You Turned Off Our GOV

George Horace Gallup, founder of the Gallup polls.

Who ever gets to see Mr. Gallup? Who takes George’s picture? And posts it “all up on they page?” I do (though, I did not snap this candid of Horace, admittedly): George Horace Gallup, founder of the Gallup polls. Photo credit: Wikipedia.

Says Gallup:

As the government shutdown continues, the GOP’s favorable rating is now 28%, the lowest Gallup has measured for either party in its trend since 1992. The Democratic Party’s favorability of 43% is down slightly from last month.

Before I die… It’s good to be here.

Before I die

I love Candy Chang‘s work.

Candy Chang is “an artist who explores the intersection of public spaces and personal well-being.” She’s also a TED fellow. And she’s been creating waves with her creativity exploring important themes for years.

Let’s put it this way: Ms. Chang is kick-ass.

Following the death of a friend she put together Before I die… wondering if the gratitude, the pain, and clarity she felt (all at different stages) following the passing of a close friend was something others endured – or how exactly do others feel or what they might share …

This interactive experience began in her New Orleans neighborhood. With chalkboard paint she gathered up friends and painted the sides of an abandoned house creating a large space to share. The walls read “Before I die I want to _______.”

Anyone was then welcome to reflect and share in a public forum and space. Candy describes the experience: Continue reading

I wanna’ be with you.

I won’t be right without you
And I might break without you
I’d rather be poor and happy than rich and alone
I’ll write hit songs about you
No matter how we’ll get through
I’ll keep on singing for a living, but I wanna be in love
And I wanna be with you

Reeve and Daniel - civilly-civiliciously-unioned.

Reeve and Daniel (shown the other way around – we’re backward … ) – civilly-civiliciously-civilized-civilated- and -unioned. Yes, this photo is from after our civil union. Approaching eleven years with Reeve. I love you, Reeve. 🙂

I found this post via Thought Catalog which lists Button Poetry as its source. We see a man named Neil Hilborn. He “recites a poem about his one true love.”

The poem and performance are described as “heartbreaking” …

… “(and beautiful).”

I agree.

For “our gal” whether she calls or not, and the man who lent us money when Reeve was out of work. Thank you for having helped us. For Reeve who watered the babies when I traveled so much and I couldn’t provide them with what they needed to survive. For Mamacita with her foggy eyes – rest peacefully sweet girl with half of a tail. For Rocco and Sasha. You make me cry regularly. And for Shirley. L. left you six or more years ago and you were hanging strong. Please do not suffer tonight. If you pass too, please pass peacefully. I’m on my way to lay with you on the floor.

Good Night. I leave the lights on and the door unlocked. My heart is always open.
