RT Live Coverage of our Ag-Gag Lawsuit Against Utah

We are going to win. Animal Agribusiness wishes to hide illegal conduct just as we’ve exposed time and time again. Ag-Gag laws are meant to criminalize whistleblowing and watchdog protection groups from exposing the horrific violence happening for the production of meat, dairy, and eggs.

Stand strong against animal abuse.

What can you do to stop cruelty to animals?!

How can you help?! Continue reading

Dairy Carrie – She’s Rather Scary

(The above video was released today following a Mercy For Animals undercover investigation into a Wisconsin dairy facility.)

Robert Grillo, founder and director of Free From Harm (an excellent blog that I highly recommend) emailed me today to share a blog post by “DairyCarrie,” a small dairy farmer.

Of course, I know what a “family farm”can mean as do many of my kind readers. My background is marketing and I know very well how important that little term is for yanking cloth over the public’s eyes. Folks – it means a family owns the company. That’s it. That’s all it means.

A family farm is still a company and animals are still left in the dust (be they so lucky) when it comes to animal welfare.

Farmed animals’ lives suck. Continue reading

Cows Beaten, Stabbed & Dragged at DiGiorno Pizza Cheese Supplier

Every DiGiorno pizza comes with a slice of cruelty.

A breaking Mercy For Animals undercover investigation reveals sadistic animal abuse at Wiese Brothers Farms in Wisconsin—a major dairy supplier to DiGiorno.

MFA’s hidden camera captured the following horrific abuses:

  • Workers viciously kicking, beating and violently whipping cows in the face and body
  • Cows suffering from open wounds, infections and injuries left to languish without proper veterinary care
  • Workers dragging cows by their fragile legs and necks using chains attached to a tractor
  • Filthy conditions, including feces-covered floors that caused cows to regularly slip, fall and injure themselves
  • Baby calves being dragged away from their mothers immediately after birth and having their tails docked without any painkillers

News of MFA’s latest investigation broke this morning on NBC National News. Continue reading

Agribiz Abuse Industries Exposed by Forbes

A Forbes article exposing the inherently cruel and violent existence of pigs used and killed by the pork industry caught my attention today. No matter how you slice it, pork is nasty business. Ecologically, ethically, and in terms of human health, it’s … Continue reading

Mercy For Animals’ Unethical Behavior

Former Mercy For Animals [sic] (MFA) US Director of Investigations Daniel Hauff speaking to reporters at a Boston news conference following the Quality Egg of New England investigation, a Maine Contract Farming facility owned by Austin "Jack" DeCoster of the salmonella outbreak.

MFA could be stronger if they do the right thing.

I suppose I should share the letter I wrote to Mercy For Animals‘ Executive Director Nathan Runkle about his and the organization’s unethical behavior. You can write to Nathan directly at NathanR@MercyForAnimals.org.

For your convenience, here’s the letter:

HOLY FRIGGIN’ SMOKES. I had no idea you were following me!

HOLY FRIGGIN’ SMOKES. I really didn’t.

I was just about to transfer one of the wildlife questions that I just received into a blog post – a “Dear Daniel” sorta’ idea. I get questions all the time about wildlife, companion animals, farmed animals, and human rights given the work I’ve done over the years and my current work, too. So, when I was about to paste in my draft response, I noticed the “Follow” button was an option even though I’m the owner and administrator of the blog. So, I thought that I ought to “follow” my blog. So I did. To my shock and amazement (seriously), the WordPress site has 3,299 “other amazing people” following my blog of only a few postings. Oops!

3,299 people follow this blog with only four blog posts ever placed. That’s pretty decent (!). Thanks for your support and I’m sorry I hadn’t been bloggin’ as I shoulda’ been!

If I had known, I promise I would not have been so lackadaisical about this site whatsoever. Continue reading
